Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Seasonal Bookkeeper to support our accounting team during the busy tax season. Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry of transactions into accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare journal entries, process payroll, and handle accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in double-entry bookkeeping processes, ensuring debits and credits are accurately recorded.
- Collaborate with the team on budgeting tasks and provide detailed account analysis as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within public accounting or non-profit organizations.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online).
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards, GAAP guidelines, and financial concepts like journal entries, ledger management, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent skills in spreadsheets and financial report writing for accurate data analysis and presentation.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation with precision.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak periods of tax season.
