STAR Education is seeking a qualified candidate with strong experience supervising enrichment programs during the 2026–2027 school year.
This is an exciting opportunity to help lead an engaging after-school program serving TK–5th grade students. Our programs help students develop new skills, build confidence, and participate in meaningful learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
This position is ideal for candidates interested in youth development, education, and program leadership.
Hours
- Full-time, 30 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Schedule is not flexible
- Pay $21/ hr non-negotiable
Commitment
Candidates must be available for the full 2026–2027 school year. Intersession work is not guaranteed.
Required ExperienceCandidates without a degree
A minimum of four years of experience is required. Qualifying experience may include:
- Classroom teaching or teacher assistant experience in elementary or middle school settings
- Paid or volunteer experience in physical education or recreation programs
- College work-study or internship experience in recreation or youth development
- Paid or volunteer experience in school guidance or counseling programs
Candidates with an Associate’s degree
- Two years of experience required with an AA degree in Child Development
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree
- One year of experience required with a Bachelor’s degree (preferred fields include Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Art)
One year of experience is defined as approximately 3 hours per day for 100 days.

Essential Duties
- Serve as both a team leader and team player
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, school administrators, students, and staff
- Build positive relationships with students and staff members
- Supervise all activities during the after-school program
- Provide staff supervision and ensure compliance with STAR policies and procedures
- Demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to educating and empowering youth
- Apply age-appropriate classroom management and behavior support strategies
- Assist with daily attendance and program documentation
- Perform administrative duties as needed
- Fill in for instructors when necessary
- Distribute and collect supplies from teachers
- Review lesson plans and provide feedback or suggestions when appropriate
- Organize supplies and maintain a clean, orderly environment
- Serve as a positive role model and reinforce positive student behavior
- Operate office, classroom, and audio-visual equipment
- Use a computer to update student information, respond to emails, and manage site communication
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel
- Maintain student health and safety by following procedures and completing incident reports as required
- Perform clerical duties including typing, copying, attendance tracking, and record maintenance
- Assist in managing a program serving approximately 60–100+ students
- Support staff management responsibilities, including auditing timesheets, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance concerns
- Support marketing and recruitment efforts to increase student participation
- Manage the site email account and program cell phone
Physical Demands
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate classroom and office equipment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch while assisting students
- Visual ability to read materials and monitor student activities
- Hearing and speaking ability to exchange information clearly
- Ability to actively participate in physical activities with children, including walking, running, and jumping

- Must complete required Department of Social Services paid online training within 90 days of hire
