Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and responsible School Bus Drivers to join our team for the upcoming School Year 26-27. The ideal candidates will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, ensuring their comfort and security during transit. This role requires excellent driving skills, a clean driving record and background, effective communication, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to all passengers.
Daily Schedule:
1. Morning Shift:
- Start early in the morning; most bus runs start between 6:00 am - 7:00 am (depending on route)
- Pick up students at their stops and drive them to school, finishing around 9:00 am
2. Midday Break:
- You'll have several hours free during the day while students are in school.
3. Afternoon Shift:
- Afternoon routes start between 1:45 pm - 2:00 pm (depending on route)
- Pick up students from school and drop them at their stops, finishing between 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm (depending on route)
Duties
- Safely operate a school bus while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and mechanical integrity.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Engage in ongoing training related to bus driving and safety protocols as required.
Qualifications
- Local Candidates Preferred: Must reside within 20 minutes of Allentown.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
- Previous experience in school bus driving or commercial driving is preferred but not required.
- Experience not necessary; we provide training.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations effectively.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Must have a valid PA DL with a minimum of 1 yr of driving time & a CLEAN DRIVING & CRIMINAL RECORD.
