Calico Home Care is looking for a Caregiver in the Chambers/Alameda area. This is a cat friendly home. The hours are flexible. The care will be for two minors (11 and 17).
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide high-quality care to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in memory care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. As a Caregiver, you will assist clients with daily living activities, promote their independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and client preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with memory care activities to enhance cognitive function.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
- Monitor and document client progress and report any changes to the nursing staff or family members.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Experience in home health settings is preferred, but not required, as we provide hands on training.
- Strong understanding of and ability to accurately follow a Care Plan.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to perform lifting (up to 25 pounds) as required by client needs.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and strategies for working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Alzheimer's, and Dementia.
- Ability to pass all required background checks, including MVR, with reliable transportation as clients often require errands such as shopping/laundry.
- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to client needs.
