Climber / Cutter – Branch Tree ServicePosition Overview
Branch Tree Service is seeking a Climber / Cutter to join our growing professional tree care team. We are open to candidates ranging from experienced aerial lift operators and bucket truck workers to seasoned production climbers with advanced rigging and removal experience.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while developing and expanding your skills in all aspects of tree care. Compensation will be based on experience, demonstrated ability, productivity, and overall value brought to the team.
We operate throughout Brevard County, Florida, with our current base of operations in Cocoa, FL. We are currently a single crew operation with plans for continued growth, investment in equipment, and expansion into additional crews and service areas.
Key ResponsibilitiesTree Care & Cutting Operations
- Perform tree trimming, pruning, removals, and storm-related tree work.
- Safely operate chainsaws, pole saws, rigging equipment, and other tree care tools.
- Execute cuts safely and efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Assist with rigging operations and controlled removals.
- Follow proper pruning standards and company procedures.
Climbing & Aerial Lift Operations
- Operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely and efficiently.
- Climb trees using approved climbing systems and techniques (for qualified climbers).
- Perform aerial pruning and removals while maintaining safety and production standards.
- Work at heights in a variety of tree species and jobsite conditions.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, loaders, and other equipment as required.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and climbing gear.
- Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, fueling, and organization of tools and equipment.
- Report equipment issues promptly to management.
Safety & Jobsite Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and ANSI/OSHA standards.
- Participate in daily jobsite safety briefings.
- Maintain awareness of crew members, customers, structures, and utility hazards.
- Help maintain a safe and professional work environment.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Work effectively with climbers, cutters, and ground crew members.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.
- Be willing to learn new techniques and expand your skillset.
Qualifications
We are willing to consider applicants with varying levels of experience, including:
- Experienced production climbers.
- Climbers looking to advance their skills.
- Bucket truck and aerial lift operators.
- Experienced cutters and tree workers.
- Motivated individuals with transferable experience in arboriculture, logging, line clearance, or related fields.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in tree trimming and removal operations.
- Knowledge of chainsaw safety and cutting techniques.
- Experience with rigging systems and controlled removals.
- Ability to work safely at heights.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- ISA, TCIA, EHAP, or other industry certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in Florida weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment.
- Must be capable of lifting 50–75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
