Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine individual patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to each client’s condition.
- Engage in individual and group therapy sessions focused on mental health counseling, behavioral health, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to foster patient engagement and facilitate behavior change.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care within hospital settings or community-based programs, ensuring compliance with clinical documentation standards and HIPAA policies.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Provide crisis management and crisis intervention services for patients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises.
- Support patients through psychiatric assessments, case management activities, and social work interventions that promote overall well-being.
- Collect data for clinical research projects related to behavioral health outcomes or service efficacy; contribute insights to improve program quality.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to specialty areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, Alzheimer's care, or working with individuals with disabilities.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or equivalent in your state.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, and elderly populations across diverse settings such as hospitals or community clinics.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation; experience with medical records management aligned with HIPAA standards.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with medical terminology relevant to psychiatric patient care.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable.
- Background in crisis management, trauma-informed care including PTSD treatment approaches, addiction counseling or substance use disorder interventions preferred.
- Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies related to mental health services is a plus.
