Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Conduct basic mechanical vehicle troubleshooting and minor repairs to facilitate vehicle recovery when necessary.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded securely onto the tow truck following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle conditions and determine appropriate towing or repair actions.
- Engage with customers professionally, providing clear communication, support, and exceptional service during stressful situations.
- Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle loading, unloading, and roadside operations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage documentation accurately for each tow or recovery operation, including logs of services performed and vehicle details.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred.
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed models, with knowledge of vehicle mechanics for truck drivers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks.
- Ability to handle conflict management situations professionally while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Experience with manual transmissions and driving various types of vehicles in diverse conditions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in challenging situations.
