Project Manager / Estimator
Leander Construction, a Central Illinois general contractor, is seeking a skilled Project Manager /
Estimator to support both preconstruction planning and project execution. This role is ideal for a
construction professional who can accurately develop project costs while effectively managing work from
award through completion.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of commercial construction experience in project management and/or estimating
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience preferred
- Working knowledge of construction cost controls and project delivery
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Preconstruction
- Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Assist with value engineering and scope review
Project Management
- Develop and manage project budgets and schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
- Process change orders and maintain cost tracking
- Review and track submittals and shop drawings
- Serve as liaison between architects/engineers, owners, and field personnel
- Interpret and administer contract requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
