Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to fill the role of Day to Day Substitute Teacher across our district. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to receive quality instruction in the absence of their regular teacher. This position requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration regarding classroom activities and student needs.
- Assist students with their learning and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times as needed.
- Follow school policies and procedures, including emergency protocols and student confidentiality guidelines.
- Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student performance and classroom dynamics.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs of students.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities when available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Valid state teaching certification or substitute teaching permit.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain student engagement.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in various grade levels and subject areas.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
