Joyful Noise Childcare in Grand Haven, MI is searching for a Lead Teacher in our Toddler classroom!
Who we are looking for: An enthusiastic and caring Lead Teacher to join our team! This role is all about creating a positive and nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive. You'll work closely with our Childcare Directors and your assistant teachers to make each day meaningful for the children and their families.
Qualifications and Requirements: This position requires an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, with preference being given to those who also hold a valid Infant/Toddler CDA certification. Prior experience is necessary. The perfect candidate will be available to work 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm.
Responsibilites Include (but are not limited to):
- Foster a loving, Christian atmosphere that supports the well-being of children, families, and coworkers.
- Create fun, age-appropriate curriculum and activities tailored to your classroom and student needs.
- Prepare lesson plans (using Creative Curriculum), calendars, and newsletters to keep everyone in the loop.
- Develop supportive relationships with parents and families, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
- Actively engage in songs, prayers, free play, and group activities with the children.
- Be the warm, welcoming face they see every day.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay informed about childcare and child development best practices.
- Ensure compliance with licensing policies and use positive discipline and redirection techniques.
- Maintain room conditions and daily schedules that meet licensing requirements.
- Help coordinate outside play, group activities, and special events. Attend staff meetings to collaborate with your team.
- Prepare behavior intervention plans and other necessary documentation when needed.
- Keep parents involved through classroom email updates and Brightwheel messages that connect them to their child’s learning journey.
- Assist with the physical care and emotional well-being of young children with patience and kindness.
- Take care of center equipment and resources to keep our space running smoothly.
Hourly Compensation: Wage based on experience and education in the field of ECE
