Lead Teacher – Daycare
Position Summary
We are small center seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our daycare team. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can learn, grow, and thrive. This position involves planning age-appropriate activities, supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and maintaining positive communication with families and staff. Full time position will be with toddlers and preschool age children.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily lesson plans and developmentally appropriate activities.
- Foster a warm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Encourage positive behavior using age-appropriate guidance techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, potty training, rest time, and transitions.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications
- CDA, or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or working towards
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or daycare setting.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Must meet all state licensing requirements, including required background checks.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:30-5:30
