DRC seeks a Junior Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team at our Sunrise office. This entry-level position is ideal for a motivated individual eager to build a career in the legal field. Training will be provided for the right candidate. The Junior Litigation Legal Assistant will work closely with attorneys and support staff, assisting with document preparation and management, case organization, and a variety of administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop practical litigation and legal support skills.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems (AIM/Perfectlaw experience preferred but not required), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with legal standards
- Support attorneys with drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain case files through effective electronic filing systems and data entry processes while adhering to firm protocols
- Time entry
- EFiling State/Federal Courts
- Managing and tracking attorneys' calendars and critical court deadlines, ensuring timely submission of filings in compliance with court requirements
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, answering phones with professional etiquette, and supporting executive administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Prefer at least one year experience in a law office setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Proficiency with case management document systems (AIM/Perfectlaw experience a plus)
- Knowledge of litigation procedures (calendaring/EFiling)
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and transcription abilities
- Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Prior clerical or administrative experience in a legal setting preferred but not required
