Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with automatic transmissions across designated local routes to deliver freight promptly.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with all regulations before each shift.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Navigate route driving efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols; communicate proactively with dispatch regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Assist with securing loads to prevent shifting during transit.
- Collaborate with plant for seamless loading operations and ensure proper documentation accompanies each shipment.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 1 year verifiable Commercial Class A driving experience needed
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to commercial driving and freight transportation regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers
