Position Summary
The Integrator – Chief Operating & Administrative Officer (COAO) is the senior executive responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Emtech and the administrative infrastructure that supports operations. Serving as the Integrator on the EOS™ Accountability Chart, this role is the CEO/Visionary’s primary partner in execution: translating vision into the annual operating plan, ensuring collaboration, integrating the major functions of the business, leading the leadership team’s meeting cadence, and holding leaders accountable for results. All functional leaders — IT, Human Resources, Finance, and Engineering — report to this position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Promotes and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Emtech, LLC in day-to-day activities.
- Serve as the Integrator on the EOS™ Accountability Chart: executes the business plan, integrates the major functions of the company, and drives consistent achievement of quarterly and annual productivity goals.
- Partner with the CEO/Visionary to filter, prioritize, and operationalize new ideas; promote a healthy and collaborative environment and ensures follow-through on agreed priorities.
- Lead the weekly leadership team meeting agenda and priorities; resolve cross-functional issues and remove obstacles and barriers for the team.
- Directly supervise the functional leadership team: IT Manager, Director of HR, Senior Financial Controller, Director of Engineering and administrative support.
- Own company-wide operating performance, including the annual operating plan, budgets, scorecard metrics, and P&L results in partnership with the Senior Financial Controller.
- Oversee the human resources function, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits implementation, performance management, employee relations, and multi-state employment compliance.
- Oversees Business Development Team.
- Oversee information technology, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI integration, business systems (ERPs), and technology vendor relationships.
- Oversee administrative operations, including facilities, insurance and risk management (liability and WC), regulatory compliance, records, and major vendor and outsourced-service relationships.
- Ensure consistent execution of core priorities across the organization; lead process documentation, simplification, and continuous improvement.
- Lead organizational planning for growth — workforce planning, organizational structure, and operational readiness for new contracts, sites, or capabilities.
- Serve as executive-level interface for key customers, strategic partners, and external advisors as delegated by the CEO.
- Mentor and develop direct reports, building leadership depth and succession readiness across the company.
- Actively support and integrate into the company culture by consistently upholding and promoting its core values, purpose, and mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 3+ years in a senior operations, general management, or Integrator/COO-level role with budget or P&L ownership.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing two or more administrative functions (HR, IT, finance, facilities, safety or risk/compliance).
- Experience as an Integrator operating within the EOS® (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or a comparable business operating system.
- Proven track record of building scalable processes and leading teams through rapid growth or organizational change.
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting operational financial statements.
- Working knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance fundamentals; multi-state and international experience.
- Exceptional ability to prioritize, drive accountability, and bring focus, clarity, and follow-through to a leadership team.
- Excellent judgment, discretion, executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills and demonstrated servant leadership qualities.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels in a lean, fast-growing organization.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment, with regular presence in robotics lab and industrial work areas. Conditions in lab and industrial areas may include exposure to machinery, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. Occasional travel to client sites, vendors, and industry events is required.
Conditions of Employment
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
This role is on-site and is not generally eligible for remote work, telecommuting, virtual or home-based work. Must be able to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required by company and client needs.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for long periods when performing planning, analysis, and documentation work.
- Ability to stand and move about intermittently during site walks, lab visits, and meetings.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to communicate in written or verbal modalities to serve the internal and external customer.
