Department: Woodshop
Position: Full-Time Woodshop Associate (Experienced)
Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday
Starting Pay: $20.50-25.00 per hour (based on experience, with 60-day review)
We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and experienced individual to join our Woodshop team. This role focuses primarily on building a variety of wooden skids based on work orders provided by management or the department lead. The position also includes occasional support with crate-kitting tasks, such as preparing materials and assembling components for crate packaging.
The ideal candidate will have prior woodshop or lumber-handling experience and be comfortable working with common woodworking tools and equipment. Employees will receive site-specific training on equipment and safety procedures. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently, and a solid understanding of woodworking fundamentals. Resumes are required for consideration.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cut lumber and materials to size according to work orders, drawings, and supervisor instructions.
- Build wooden skids and basic wood packaging components safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Assist with crate-kitting activities as production demands require.
- Ensure all products meet company quality and safety standards.
- Follow drawings, verbal instructions, and company procedures provided by management or department lead.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
- Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
- Work a full 40-hour workweek and consistently meet production deadlines.
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience performing repetitive woodworking or production tasks safely and consistently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Clear communication skills with supervisors and co-workers.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prior woodshop, manufacturing, or lumber-handling experience required.
- Experience using table saws, planers, jointers, routers, shapers, and basic hand/power tools preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently while completing custom or production-based woodworking tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate woodshop equipment (additional training provided as needed).
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and materials.
