Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their needs, ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions efficiently and handle cash, credit, or debit payments with precision
- Conduct product demos and upselling to promote store items and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales area, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, restocking products, and assisting with inventory counts
- Provide information about products, promotions, or store policies using clear communication skills and phone etiquette when necessary
- Assist with grocery store tasks such as product placement, labeling, and ensuring shelves are fully stocked
Experience
- Prior cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or convenience store environments
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in managing team tasks or training new staff
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer engagement techniques
- Basic math skills for cash register operations, sales calculations, and inventory management
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling, and retail math will enhance your success in this role
