We are seeking SEVERAL Paraprofessional Tutors/Educators (PPT/PPEs)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional Tutors to support teachers and enhance the learning experience for students. This role is essential in providing individualized attention and assistance to students, particularly those with diverse learning needs, including children on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Paraprofessional Educator (PPE) works under the supervision of the English Language Coordinator to provide instructional support to English Learners (ELs), including students who are dually identified as English Learners and students with disabilities.
Duties
- Provide direct instructional support to dually identified English Learners with disabilities through individualized, small-group, and one-on-one instruction.
- Support English language development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Assist in implementing EL curriculum and instructional strategies to support multilingual learners’ language development and monitor student progress.
- Promote an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment that supports students’ academic and language development.
Qualifications
- Exhibit patience, compassion, and flexibility when supporting students with diverse needs.
- Maintain dependability, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to student success.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, EL staff, students, and families to support student success.
- Experience working with English Learners and/or students with special needs is an advantage.
- Possess basic computer skills and a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities in both preschool and K-5 school settings.
- Support the development of curriculum tailored to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational requirements.
- Engage students in literacy education activities, promoting reading and comprehension skills.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring they understand the material being taught.
- Help create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters social skills.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs
- Data Collection and progress monitoring
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Experience
- Previous experience in a preschool and/or an Elementary school setting is preferred but not required
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or with diverse learning needs is an asset
- Willingness to learn and have a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students.
