PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to):
- Prepare meals in accordance with standardized recipes, planned menus, and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare food for therapeutic and modified-consistency diets (e.g., pureed, low sodium, diabetic) as ordered by medical staff.
- Prepare authorized substitutions for residents who refuse certain foods or request alternatives.
- Assist in the setup, service, and breakdown of the dining room and tray lines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment by sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and wiping down equipment.
- Ensure proper food handling, labeling, and storage in accordance with state and local health codes.
- Take and record daily temperatures of hot and cold foods to ensure safe serving zones.
- Assist with receiving, inventorying, and properly storing incoming food and supply deliveries.
- Complete daily documentation, task sheets, and logs required by state regulations.
- Interact with staff, residents, and visitiors with patience, tact, and cheerful dispostion.
- Respect resident rights, maintain confidentiality, and foster a person-centered care environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification: valid Food Handler Certification per state guidelines.
