Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technician to join our surgical services team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures across various specialties, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and operational efficiency. Duties
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection prevention protocols.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and handling specialized medical equipment.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries, providing critical data to the surgical team.
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, including medical records and electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic.
- Support preoperative and postoperative patient care activities, including patient positioning and wound management.
- Ensure the proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with hospital standards.
- Assist in the treatment of fractures, trauma care, orthopedic surgeries, neurosurgery assistance, cardiovascular surgery support, and other specialized procedures.
- Apply aseptic techniques rigorously to prevent healthcare-associated infections during all phases of surgery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, critical care units (ICU), pediatric units, and ambulatory surgery centers.
- Conduct data collection related to surgical procedures for quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
- Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently, demonstrating knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
MUST HAVE:
- Graduate of a formal Surgical Technician program
- BLS from AHA-REQUIRED
- Surgical Technician through one of the following: -NBSTA - Certified Surgical Technologist -NCCT
Qualifications: 1 year of Experience – REQUIRED
