Introduction:

All Employees must meet the requirements and/or be in one of the following categories:

Current and maintain a National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification.

Paramedic equivalent medical knowledge (with RN level preferred) as the Simulation operator in order to be able to manipulate physiological data and interpret participants response to simulated scenarios.

Must maintain Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification

Five years of clinical experience in military or civilian setting

Employee shall have at least (2) years’ experience with programming of human patient simulators using primarily Laerdal, Gaumard & CAE simulator operating systems.

Prior experience in course development and education methodology.

Employee shall have knowledge of military trauma clinical skills, procedures, processes to include: AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs),

Employee shall have knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards. Knowledge of military and civilian guidelines, policy & procedure through successful completion of USAFSAM’s and Department’s orientation programs is required.

Employee must have a Non-Disclosure Agreement in place with their company, and the company must provide a copy to the Program Manager of this task order. This is necessary in order to mitigate transfer of any confidential, proprietary and/or sensitive information while in this position.

Employee must be able to lift < 50 pounds and move human patient simulation equipment to and from training areas, work in low-light, high-volume environments, and differing weather conditions simulating actual aeromedical evacuation missions.

Administrative and Functional Support

The Employee shall provide technical expertise and support on operating a high-fidelity patient simulator system, assist in developing metrics to validate a simulation-based team- training program. Will assist with the use of advanced learning technologies and methodologies to improve medical education and training for healthcare teams for the purpose of improving patient outcomes. Provide technical and analytic support for the Team Training Program at USAFSAM. Employee will be working with the USAFSAM/ET personnel to provide digital video recording support, maintenance of existing equipment, analysis of team training measures, design of simulation scenarios, technical expertise in running simulators within a constrained/controlled simulation environment. Employee will also provide support for digital video recording and simulators for other C-STARS training platforms.

Tasks will include operating the LMS & A/V solution that will be used to view and evaluate learner performance during training and simulation events.

Employee shall provide analysis of team performance during pre and post simulated conditions to establish correlation between pre- and post-performance. Employee shall utilize, complete, collect and track simulation evaluation tools.

Employee shall also assist with development, data collection, data analysis, and administration of all pre- and post- simulation scenarios.

Employee shall prepare training environments, operate simulation equipment/assets, and recover equipment and environment for scheduled training and upon request by USAFSAM Staff.

Employee shall conduct orientation to the simulation equipment and environment and provide overview of the human patient simulator.
-
Employee shall assist in the management and support daily operations of the simulation training program.
-
Employee shall assist in the development of simulation program validation metrics.
-
Employee shall work cooperatively with the applicable program analysis, course curriculum advisors, course program director, IM/IT, medical logistics, and site simulation center leadership to identify operational needs. Based on these identified needs, the Employee shall develop recommendations to address simulation/course shortfalls.

Employee shall help the program course director during the patient simulation scenario review process.

Employee shall develop and provide training, safety and maintenance materials appropriate to the operation of all simulation equipment as directed by the Simulation Program Coordinator or as warranted by operational necessity.

Employee shall attend all strategic planning meetings and teleconferences, as well as meetings and conferences for the purpose of improving the patient’s simulated course experience and delivery of course content.

Employee shall assist and provide guidance to simulation center set-up and shall provide consultative assistance to program course management regarding future site expansion, as well as high-fidelity HPS recommendations.

Employee shall ensure that simulation education, program key elements, and learning objectives are considered, and shall ensure simulation training outcome measurements meet course and skill sustainment requirements.

Employee shall be responsible for reporting needs regarding simulation supplies & equipment in support of course training scenarios targeted to meet identified learning objectives.

Employee shall effectively operate simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized Hi-fidelity simulators, and virtual reality procedural trainers individually or in combination with the ability to follow legitimate medical aspects of scenarios and shall make appropriate adjustments based on participant actions or inactions as needed.

Employee shall create troubleshooting documents, simulation checklists, and simulation lesson plans/scenarios for simulation equipment. These products will be forwarded to the program course director for review.

Employee shall support USAFSAM simulation research projects within the capacity of Employee PWS

Employee leave request/projections will be provided to ET Academic and Readiness Operations Division Chief at least 10 workdays in advance via email to meet local policy. Absence during scheduled course dates will be avoided.

Employee shall assist with train-the-trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting items for the purpose of training additional cadre members.

Employee Shall participate in operational exercises which provide valuable professional development through travel opportunities and firsthand exposure to CCAT mission operations.
