The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages while delivering exceptional guest service in alignment with The Sea Pines Resort standards and Forbes Travel Guide expectations. This role ensures a clean, organized, and engaging bar environment while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all beverage service regulations.
Guest Service & Experience
- Greet guests in a warm and professional manner
- Provide attentive, personalized service and anticipate guest needs
- Take beverage orders and make recommendations based on product knowledge
- Ensure a clean, organized, and visually appealing bar area
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards
- Maintain consistency in drink quality, presentation, and portioning
- Verify guest age and comply with all alcohol service laws
- Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible alcohol service
Operations
- Accurately enter orders into POS system and process payments (cash, credit, room charge)
- Maintain bar inventory levels, restock supplies, and notify management of shortages
- Complete opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership
- Support team members to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Assist with training new employees as needed
- Previous bartending experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic mixology, spirits, beer, and wine
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must meet legal age requirements to serve alcohol
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
- Fast-paced Food & Beverage outlet environment
- Indoor and/or outdoor settings depending on outlet
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Experience in upscale or resort environment
- Knowledge of craft cocktails and beverage trends
- Alcohol service certification (TIPS or equivalent)
