Cooper Partners supports organizations in building strategic alliances, expanding into new markets, and implementing business development strategies that deliver sustainable results. Our clientele ranges from different industries such as insurance, outsourcing
and offshoring, legal, and wholesale development. We are currently seeking a diligent and methodical underwriting analyst who will be responsible for coordination and delivery of high-quality policy servicing for a long-standing Cooper Partners insurance client.
Underwriting Analyst Responsibilities:
- Data & Financial Analysis: Review applications and use mathematical models to calculate premium pricing, loan limits, or coverage levels.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate the likelihood of financial loss or claims by reviewing credit reports, financial statements, medical histories, or property conditions.
- Document Preparation: Prepare comprehensive summaries, quotes, and reports for credit committees or lead underwriters to facilitate the approval process.
- Compliance & Policy: Ensure all applications, underwriting guidelines, and filed rates comply with state, federal, or corporate regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with sales, claims, and actuarial departments, as well as external agents and brokers, to gather necessary information or troubleshoot discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or risk management is highly preferred.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex, unconventional risks.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and industry-specific underwriting or rating software.
- Detail Orientation: Exceptional accuracy in data entry, proofreading, and maintaining organized case files.
- Certifications: Pursuing designations like Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) is highly valued

Pay: $72,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
