Position Overview:
Experienced manufacturing position responsible for performing precision soldering and electrical assembly operations used in the production of high-quality cable, wiring harness and electrical assemblies. This position requires the ability to independently read and interpret drawings, work instructions and specifications and consistently produce soldered assemblies that meet established workmanship and quality requirements.
The Soldering Technician is expected to properly prepare components and conductors for soldering, operate applicable soldering equipment, inspect completed work, identify workmanship defects and perform approved rework or repairs when necessary. This position may also assist less-experienced technicians with established soldering and assembly processes.

Technical Competencies:
· Read and interpret detailed drawings, wiring diagrams and work instructions to complete soldered assemblies.
· Prepare wires, terminals and components for soldering, including stripping, tinning, cleaning and positioning.
· Perform hand soldering of wires, terminals, connectors and electrical components to established workmanship standards.
· Properly select and use soldering irons, solder, flux, hand tools and related production equipment.
· Inspect completed solder joints and identify common workmanship defects.
· Perform approved solder rework and repairs as necessary.
· Follow applicable ESD, safety and quality procedures.
· Maintain accurate production documentation and communicate quality or process issues as needed.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in a Technical Field or relevant technical certifications a plus.
· 2-4 years of experience performing production soldering, electrical assembly, wiring harness assembly or similar manufacturing work preferred.
· Demonstrated experience with hand soldering of wires, terminals, connectors or electrical components required.
· Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, wiring diagrams and work instructions required.
· Experience identifying soldering workmanship defects and performing basic solder rework preferred.
· Familiarity with ESD-controlled manufacturing environments preferred.
· IPC/J-STD soldering certification or previous experience working to established industry soldering standards preferred.
Benefits:
· Competitive hourly pay starting at $17.28 per/hr depending on experience, 40 hours per week.
· Monday – Friday 8:30-5pm schedule. Weekends Off.
· All Major holidays off and paid (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Day).
· 100 hours PTO on accrual basis. Accrual begins immediately after start. 8 Additional hours for every year of service (capped at 5 years).
