A part-time Custodian’s primary function is the maintenance and upkeep of the Ward Church facility and its grounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interior: Maintain the building by the following:

Clean, buff, strip, and wax tile floors

Vacuum and shampoo carpeting
-
Dust and polish furniture
-
Clean glass and mirrors
-
Clean floors and fixtures in restrooms
-
Keep adequate supplies (soap, towels, etc.) in restrooms
-
Dispose of all waste material
-
Arrange furniture, as required by the various groups
-
Clean doors, door frames, light switch areas, windowsills, handrails, radiator covers, drinking fountains, etc.

Replace burned out light bulbs
-
Lock and unlock building and rooms, as required
-
Do minor maintenance work, as necessary
-
And other miscellaneous duties, as required
Exterior: Maintain areas adjacent to the building as follows:

Sweep entrances and walkways
-
Pick up all paper and debris
-
Maintain planted areas
-
Shovel snow
-
Do minor maintenance work, as necessary
-
And other related duties, as required
Attend other functions of the church, as assigned.

Education: High school degree, GED, or equivalent experience

Previous experience in a custodian or maintenance position preferred

Outside equipment, particularly snow removal equipment experience, preferred
