American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility in Milwaukee, WI, requiring a strong cardiovascular and thoracic surgical background and Epic proficiency.

Work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) of a 938-bed, Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital in Milwaukee, WI
-
Cardiovascular and thoracic surgical patient population including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic cases (lobectomy, hernia repair), generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplants, and Fem-Pop bypass

Averages approximately 10 cases per day with a 1:1 patient ratio

Each case is staffed with two RNs (Circulator and Med RN); travelers will serve in the Circulator role only
-
No floating required; duties are limited to CV, thoracic, and supporting interventional cases on standby
-
8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with start times between 0500–0630
-
Rotating on-call requirements including end-of-shift call up to once per week and approximately one 24-hour weekend call (Sat/Sun 0700–0700) per month

30-minute response time required for call-back; no sleep room available

Holiday coverage is on-call only, as needed

Uses Epic (required), Alaris, Pyxis, and Da Vinci XI

Active WI or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in CVOR or cardiovascular/thoracic surgical settings
-
Strong CVOR background required across all specialties, with ability to work independently with minimal guidance

Experience with CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic surgery, generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplants, and Fem-Pop bypass required

Epic EMR experience required

Robotic surgery experience preferred

At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year

Travelers will function as Circulators; the Med RN role is filled by internal staff
-
Support structure includes a Department Supervisor and Manager, a non-case-assigned Team Lead, 24/7 anesthesia and House Supervisor coverage, and a Surgical Assistant Lead for instrumentation and preference cards

2-week orientation provided

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Facility adheres to a fatigue policy prohibiting more than 60 hours worked per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts for all staff, including travelers

RTO of up to 7 days may be approved; additional time off requires special approval

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply

Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
