Staten Island Chiropractic & Sports Rehab is a sports-focused chiropractic and rehabilitation clinic delivering evidence-based care to high school, collegiate, and adult athletes, as well as active individuals. Our multidisciplinary model integrates manual therapy, progressive loading, corrective exercise, BFR, laser, shockwave, and performance-based rehab.
We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to play a key role in both clinical care working closely with our doctors to deliver high-level rehab, return-to-performance care in addition to sideline coverage.
Position Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will serve as the Rehab Coordinator of the clinic, leading patients through structured rehabilitation, movement-based progressions, and return-to-performance programs in office. This role also includes part-time athletic training coverage for local sporting events.
This is a hands-on role where you will be actively involved in patient care, movement coaching, and real-world sports medicine, not just observing or assisting.
You will be expected to:
- Confidently coach and correct exercise and movement
- Drive rehab sessions with athletes and active individuals
- Assist in progressing patients toward return-to-sport and performance
- Maintain high energy and command within the rehab environment
Clinic Responsibilities
- Actively coach patients through in-clinic rehab, corrective exercise, and return-to-sport progressions
- Review, demonstrate, and progress home exercise programs (HEPs)
- Monitor patient response to treatment and rehab loading
- Assist with therapeutic modalities, including: Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), Laser therapy, Shockwave (training provided), taping/strapping Spinal decompression setup per protocol
- Assist doctors with treatment flow
- Adapt scheduling and clinic flow based on patient volume and provider availability
Field Coverage Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training coverage for assigned games/events
- Assist with acute injury management during athletic participation
- Coordinate communication between athletes, parents, coaches, and providers
- Assist with return-to-play guidance
- Maintain professionalism in high-pressure sports environments
Required Qualifications
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
- Eligible for New York State licensure (or currently licensed)
- Strong foundation in orthopedic evaluation, rehab progression, and exercise prescription
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong understanding of movement mechanics and exercise technique
- Ability to coach squatting, hinging, lunging, and basic athletic movements
- Comfort progressing athletes toward running, jumping, and sport-specific tasks
Compensation & Professional Growth
- $52,000–$65,000 base salary, based on experience, clinical skill, and ability to confidently coach movement and manage rehab protocols
- Additional compensation for game coverage
- NY State Athletic Training License fee reimbursement
- CPR/BLS Renewal Reimbursement
- $1,000 yearly continuing education support for approved courses, seminars, certifications

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
