Vitek Inc is currently hiring heavy duty Tractor and Trailer Diesel Mechanics. This is a dedicated on-site position for providing prompt repair of equipment as well as preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers. Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and inspections on variety of semi-trucks and trailers, such as brakes, tires, wiring etc.
Repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmission, and differentials
Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on vehicles, along with DOT inspections.
Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
Knowledge of CVSA requirements for tractor/trailer inspection and repair
Ability to multitask and establish priorities
Ability to identify, report, and execute a recurring problem
Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most SRT times.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of diesel repair experience on tractors/trailers.
Communication skills
Valid Driver’s License required.
CDL-A preferred but not required
Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions.
Proficient computer skills / software navigation capabilities to document repairs and use email
