For over 40 years, Command Logistic Services has provided third-party logistics (3PL), warehousing, fulfillment, and distribution services to many of the leading apparel and consumer brands across the United States. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and finance department.
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, billing, collections, and month-end close activities. This individual will manage the accounting team, work closely with executive leadership, and help drive financial accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting department, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, Payroll, and General Ledger functions.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements.
- Oversee customer billing, collections, and revenue recognition processes.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and relationships with external CPA firms and financial institutions.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Assist executive management with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing accounting staff and developing high-performing teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, distribution, or related industries is highly preferred.
