Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to efficiently clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools according to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks and support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness during service hours
- Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas (bussing) and ensure proper disposal of waste to maintain a tidy workspace
- Follow strict sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with food safety management standards and health regulations
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and dishware safely while adhering to kitchen health and safety standards
- Support the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to uphold sanitation standards throughout the shift
- Assist with basic food handling tasks when required, including storing supplies properly and maintaining organized workstations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and manual handling tasks throughout shifts
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health regulations
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with kitchen tools is a plus but not required; training will be provided for all necessary skills
- Experience in catering or banquet settings is advantageous but not mandatory; a positive attitude and willingness to contribute are key
