American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 30-bed unit specializing in telemetry and fast-turnaround surgical patients, requiring an active KY or compact RN license.

Work on a 30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit
-
Unit specializes in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgery including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
-
Serves Bariatric Center of Excellence patients
-
Patient population is mostly transferred from the ED and PACU
-
Third shift schedule, 7p-7:30a, 12-hour shifts
-
36 hours per week, 3 days per week
-
6-week scheduling periods with 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period
-
Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
-
Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
-
ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
-
Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
-
Implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person in a caring, healing-focused environment

Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops prioritized care plans, and implements treatments within RN scope of practice

Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
-
Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members, monitoring accuracy and completeness of delegated care
-
Provides patient and family education tailored to culture, age, and level of comprehension
-
Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
