About the Position
We are seeking a full-time experienced and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting functions of our organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and supporting management with timely financial information.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, highly accurate, and comfortable working independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Process invoices, payments, deposits, and expense reports.
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections.
- Prepare and file sales tax and other required reports.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Work with the CPA, auditors, and other financial professionals as needed.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Provide financial information and support to management as requested.
Required skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficient with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and time management
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and discretion
- Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills, to include formal business letter and email writing
- Represents the company in a professional manner, while displaying the company’s core values.
Preferred
- Experience with sales tax reporting.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or comparable accounting experience (required).
- Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required).
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
