Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures including CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology procedures with precision and attention to detail.
- Operate complex radiologic imaging equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging processes.
- Collaborate with emergency room teams and participate in urgent care scenarios, providing rapid diagnostic evaluation for trauma and critical cases.
- Assist in specialized procedures such as interventional radiography and interventional radiology interventions, maintaining aseptic technique throughout.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to optimize imaging techniques tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Deliver compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, ensuring comfort, and maintaining professionalism in fast-paced environments like Level I trauma centers or emergency rooms.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in urgent care settings, emergency room environments, or Level I trauma centers with a strong background in diagnostic radiology.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of medical imaging equipment including CT scanners, PET scanners, mammography units, DEXA machines, fluoroscopy units, and nuclear medicine cameras.
- Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols effectively.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience with interventional radiography procedures and aseptic techniques required for invasive imaging interventions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient care and technical accuracy.
- Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent), with additional specialization in CT preferred.
