Kansas City offers three-month editorial internships year-round. Internships are hands-on and involve a variety of responsibilities as well as the opportunity to regularly interact with the editorial staff. Interns are expected to work 20 hours per week.
Primary duties include fact-checking stories, contributing research to larger stories and feature packages and writing shorter stories for the front of the book and dining sections. Interns also enter descriptions for the calendar and listings sections and write web exclusives for kansascitymag.com.
We offer an honorarium of $250 per month.
Please note that we can only accept applicants who are enrolled in an educational institution where they will receive school credit for completing an internship.
