American Traveler is hiring a travel Inpatient Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a Level 2 trauma center offering a diverse caseload across adult and pediatric acute care, ICU, and rehab settings.

Acute inpatient hospital setting at a Level 2 adult and pediatric trauma center and primary stroke center

Caseload includes adult and pediatric ICUs, acute inpatient rehab, stroke specialty program, neuro, ortho, oncology, general med-surg, same-day discharge joint program, and a pediatric inpatient rehab program

Department sees approximately 120–150 patients per day; individual therapist caseload is approximately 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per day

All inpatient areas may be required to be covered, including adult and pediatric acute care, ICUs, and inpatient rehab
-
8-hour day shifts on a variable schedule; self-scheduling is not permitted
-
Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with core staff; compensatory days are scheduled for weekends

On-call may be required

Charting in Cerner; facility is transitioning to Epic

Active OT license required by start date; license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of OT experience required

BLS certification (AHA) required

Strong ADL evaluation skills and ability to document justification for next level of care

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work flexibly across multiple inpatient units and patient populations

2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities include ADL evaluations, clinical documentation supporting next level of care, and treatment across a wide range of acute and rehab diagnoses

Department team includes 1 rehab aide and 1 COTA

Orientation length varies based on individual skill level

OT professionals at this facility go through a formal credentialing process; the full process from submission to start can take up to 2 months or longer — plan accordingly

Any solid color, clean and professional scrubs are acceptable

Candidates who previously worked at this facility must have had an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
