Job Title: Safety Coordinator
General Description
The Safety Specialist is responsible for leading supporting, developing, and maintaining the company’s safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. This role works closely with all departments, especially Production, Maintenance, and HR to promote a strong safety culture, reduce workplace risks, and ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards. The Safety Specialist serves as a key communication link between employees, supervisors and management.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial safety role.

Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs.

Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and employee training.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
-
First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Experience in manufacturing, or assembly operations.

Experience supporting safety audits and compliance programs.
Responsibilities

Manage and maintain OSHA compliance tracking, ensuring timely updates and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Support and enforce IWAY safety requirements in alignment with corporate and customer standards.

Conduct and deliver new‑hire safety orientation, ensuring employees understand core safety expectations from day one.

Perform monthly safety audits of facilities, equipment, and work practices; document findings and follow up on corrective actions.

Lead or support incident investigations, including root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive action development.

Oversee PPE management, including availability, condition, usage compliance, and program improvements.

Assist with emergency response planning, drills, documentation, and coordination with internal teams.

Prepare and distribute safety KPI reports, analyzing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Manage contractor safety, including onboarding, compliance verification, and monitoring of safe work practices.

Administer and maintain the training matrix, ensuring required safety training is completed, documented, and up to date.
Job Requirements

Ability to lift up to 20 kg / 50 lbs.

Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and exposure to manufacturing environments with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or overtime for audits, training, or incident response.
