Build, Test and Improve Complex Electrical Assemblies
Selflock Screw Products Co., Inc. (SSP) is expanding its Syracuse manufacturing operation and hiring approximately 15 skilled employees.
We are looking for talented manufacturing professionals who can build, test, inspect and troubleshoot complex electrical products. This is not repetitive, entry-level assembly work. Successful candidates will use prints, schematics, wiring diagrams and detailed work instructions to produce high-quality cable, wire-harness and electromechanical assemblies.
We are intentionally looking beyond exact job titles. Relevant experience may come from aerospace, defense, avionics, medical devices, control-panel manufacturing, industrial equipment, electronics, semiconductor manufacturing or another high-reliability production environment.
Depending on demonstrated strengths, technicians may focus on advanced assembly, electrical testing, troubleshooting, quality inspection or working team leadership.
Compensation
- Standard starting range of $25–$33 per hour.
- Additional compensation may be available for exceptional technical capability, advanced certifications, testing or quality expertise, or leadership experience.
- Final position and starting rate will be based on demonstrated skills and assigned responsibilities.
- Paid relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates moving to the Syracuse area.
Responsibilities
- Build complex cable, wire-harness and electromechanical assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material and work instructions.
- Cut, strip, terminate, route and label wires and cables.
- Install connectors, terminals and other electrical components.
- Perform precision crimping, soldering and mechanical assembly.
- Use multimeters, continuity testers and other electrical test equipment.
- Conduct continuity, pinout and functional testing.
- Diagnose and correct wiring, workmanship and component problems.
- Perform first-piece, in-process and final quality inspections.
- Verify that completed work meets customer specifications and applicable workmanship standards.
- Accurately complete travelers, inspection records and production documentation.
- Identify defects, nonconforming material and opportunities to prevent recurring problems.
- Support standardized work, workplace organization and continuous improvement.
- Help train and coach developing technicians when assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in electrical, electronic, cable, wire-harness or electromechanical manufacturing.
- Ability to independently read and work from technical prints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with cable preparation, crimping, soldering, connectors, terminals or point-to-point wiring.
- Ability to use common hand tools and electrical test equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to recognize defects and troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to accurately follow and document established processes.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively with production, engineering and quality personnel.
A specific degree is not required when a candidate can demonstrate the necessary technical capability.

Candidates do not need to have held the exact title “Senior Electrical Manufacturing Technician.” We are interested in the work you can perform, the problems you can solve and the quality standards you can maintain.
Preferred Experience
- IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 certification or working knowledge.
- High-reliability aerospace, defense, medical-device or industrial manufacturing.
- Complex cable and wire-harness fabrication.
- Electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- First-article, in-process or final inspection.
- Training, mentoring or working-lead responsibilities.
- Lean manufacturing, standardized work or continuous-improvement activities.
