The Associate IT Network Admin will:
Support recruitment efforts as the IT Infrastructure Bureau seeks a Network Administrator;

How does it get done?
The Associate IT Network Admin is responsible for:
Assisting with installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls;
Monitoring network performance and availability using established network management tools;
Troubleshooting user and site connectivity issues, escalating complex problems as appropriate;
Supporting deployment and upkeep of wired, wireless, and WAN/SD-WAN network services;
Performing routine network maintenance such as firmware updates, backups, and hardware replacements;
Maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, inventory records, and standard operating procedures;
Assisting with user account provisioning and network access requests in alignment with security policies;
Participating in network projects, office relocations, and new site implementations;
Collaborating with vendors and service providers to resolve circuit, hardware, and connectivity issues;
Following established cybersecurity policies and contributing to the implementation of network security best practices;
Providing on call or after-hours support for scheduled maintenance, as required;
Working closely with Systems Administration, Help Desk, Security, and other IT teams to ensure consistent service delivery;
Staying current with evolving networking technologies through ongoing training and professional development.

Minimum Qualification
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end-user support, systems administration, or network administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions
Incumbent responds, on a rotating schedule, to callback at any hour of the day on weekends and holidays for communications system diagnostic and restoration. Very long hours (10-12 hour days) are sometimes necessary to cope with system problems. Driving long distance (500 mile round trips) is sometimes necessary. Lifting in excess of 50 - 70 pounds is not uncommon. Climbing steel communication towers to 300 feet is not uncommon in all types of weather conditions. Light truck operation on and off road is necessary, sometimes in very adverse weather conditions. Transportation and operation of snow machines (Sno-Cat) in mountainous terrain is required. Working in odd physical postures is necessary when installing or repairing radio equipment in vehicles and on remote site installations.
