WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
The QMS Technician 2 is primarily responsible for the development, support, and improvement of aspects of the Quality Management System, while also supporting other Quality team members and executing aspects of the QMS. This includes managing nonconforming materials across Schupan Aluminum & Plastic Sales facilities, maintaining and improving customer and supplier relationships, representing Quality to customers and suppliers, contributing to Material Review Board meetings, conducting internal and external audits, developing work instructions and inspection plans, supporting corrective actions and root cause investigations, and assessing product and process conformity to requirements.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Perform internal audits as scheduled

Assist in the development and maintenance of the internal audit program

Assist and/or participate in external audits performed by customers, independent certifying bodies, and third-party auditors
-
Assist and/or participate in the development and implementation of cost-saving measures and continuous improvement activities
-
Assist and/or participate in the facilitation of corrective action activities
-
Develop, review, and/or improve QMS processes and documents

Lead and/or assist in determining root cause(s) of nonconforming product and other process failures

Control the revision of part prints through electronic repository, as required
-
Perform and document inspections of products and materials according to prescribed inspection plans as needed

Control, organize, and facilitate disposition, sorting, and rework activities of nonconforming materials

Follow and comply with QMS documented processes and procedures

Develop and propose work instructions and inspection documents

Utilize ERP system to transact material and/or create labels for inventory stock, nonconforming hold, and/or to prepare material for shipment

Utilize ERP system to record labor tickets as needed: counts of complete and deviated material and time spent on operations

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Consistently follow safety policies, procedures, and practices, including wearing proper ear and eye protection at all times on the manufacturing floor

Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Perform other related duties as assigned
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
3+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality roles, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Current Driver's License
Technical school, applicable degree, or equivalent experience (preferred)
Certified Internal Auditor (preferred)
Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations
Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, and use intuition and experience to complement data
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, suppliers, and the general public
Knowledge of accounting, databases, and internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office
Ability to read computer screens, documents, and other written material
Some prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
Occasionally performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, and pulling
Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
Occasionally exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
Routinely work in a noisy environment
Occasionally work in an environment with gas-powered and other forklifts and machinery
Occasional travel may be required to other company sites, suppliers, and/or customers

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
