The Director of HK Cubs is responsible for administering the child care program of the district for children ages six weeks through five years in compliance with both federal and state regulations while providing leadership in a learning community.
Essential Functions

· Defines and executes the operating plans of the center within local, state, and federal statutes and regulations, and Board of Education policies and regulations.
· Responsible for the administration, personnel, and educational goals and processes of the HK Cubs Child Care Center.
· Prepares the annual budget for the child care program and submits it to the Director of Fiscal Operations.
· Supervises and manages budgetary expenditures, including payroll, from the childcare center's tuition funds.
· Assists the Director of Fiscal Operations with preparing monthly financial statements and other financial analyses regarding the Child Care Program as requested and needed.
· Provides all data and information needed to invoice all center parents for tuition. ⎼ Prepares bank deposits
· Hires, onboards, and supervises all employees of the HK Cubs Child Care Center
· Evaluates the performance of childcare staff and submits evaluations to file in employees' personnel file
· Administers all employee policies and procedures for HK Cub Child Care Center employees
· Maintains and distributes the HK Cubs Employee Handbook
· Schedules professional development and training for staff as needed
· Manages the daily operations of the district's child care program per local, state, and federal statutes and regulations, and Board of Education policies and regulations.
· Interfaces with other district personnel to ensure that the medical, facility, custodial/maintenance, and technology needs of the program are met and adhered to as designed and approved.
· Communicates openly and effectively with parents of children enrolled in the childcare program.
· Ensures all aspects of health and safety regarding the physical center, all of the center employees, and center children are addressed.
· Administers and updates all policies of the center and maintains a policy handbook
· Maintains any/all records necessary to operate a properly licensed child care program per all applicable state and local regulations.
· Works cohesively with all staff members to build a team environment and provide opportunities for professional development
· Reports all cases of suspected child abuse to appropriate school personnel and proper government authority
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Fiscal Operations, Assistant Superintendent, or the Superintendent of Schools.

· Able to stand and reach with hands and arms. ⎼ Requires the employee to work irregular or extended hours occasionally
· Function with moderate noise level
Supervisory Requirements:
· The Director of HK Cubs supervises and evaluates all HK Cubs personnel.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
· Experienced in child care and early childhood development/learning, including supervisory and leadership responsibilities
· Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Certification & Licenses:
· Required to obtain and maintain a certification in CPR, First Aid, & Medication Administration
· Required to have a Designated Head Teacher certificate for a Child Day Care Center for children under 3 years of age and children 3-5 years of age
Completion of Director certification within 1 year of employment
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
