We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Customer Service & Shipping Associate to join our team at PostalAnnex+ in La Jolla. In this role, you will be the face of our store, helping customers with their packing, shipping, and business service needs. [ Key Responsibilities ]
Shipping & Packaging: Process domestic and international shipments via UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS. Provide expert, secure packaging services for a wide variety of customer items.
Mailbox Services: Sort and manage incoming mail and packages for personal and business mailbox holders. Assist customers with new mailbox registrations.
- Retail Counter Operations: Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system to process cash and card transactions accurately. Assist with retail inventory management and keeping the sales floor stocked.
- Office & Business Services: Assist customers with copy, print, scan, fax, and other office center solutions.
- Store Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming storefront and work environment.

- Customer Service Mindset: Excellent communication skills with a friendly, welcoming, and professional attitude.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately input shipping data, manage transactions, and sort mail without errors.
- Multitasking & Tech Savvy: Comfortable navigating computer-based POS systems and operating basic office machinery while keeping a calm demeanor during busy hours.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift, move, and maneuver heavy packages and boxes (up to 40 lbs).
[ Preferred Qualifications (Plus Factors) ]
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in retail, customer service, or shipping/logistics centers.
- Active California Notary Public Commission (Highly preferred; qualifies for immediate higher starting pay).
- Excellent English communication skills; ability to comfortably assist a diverse local clientele.
- Proximity to the La Jolla / San Diego area for a smooth and reliable daily commute.
Compensation & Benefits (Clear Pay Increase Plan)
We heavily invest in our team's professional growth. The store owner will 100% cover all costs associated with obtaining your California Notary Public license (including class fees, exam fees, and supplies).
We offer two distinct pay trajectories depending on your starting qualifications:
- [Option A] If you DO NOT currently hold a Notary License:
- Starting Wage: $19.00 / hour
- Growth Plan: The owner will sponsor and pay for your training. The moment you pass the exam and officially receive your Notary Public Commission, your pay will immediately bump up to $21.00 / hour.
- [Option B] If you ALREADY hold a valid Notary License:
- Starting Wage: $20.00 / hour
- Growth Plan: After a standard 2-month onboarding and training period to learn our store operations, your pay will be increased to $21.00 / hour.
Schedule
- Part-time or Full-time positions available (flexible scheduling).
- Weekend availability is a strong plus.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
