Summary
Runs the JATC's electrical apprenticeship program — instructors, curriculum, apprentice progress, and compliance with DOL/state apprenticeship rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operation of the apprenticeship and journeyman upgrade programs
- Track apprentice OJT hours, grades, and progression; report to DOL/state agencies
- Hire, schedule, and evaluate instructors
- Keep curriculum current with NEC code cycles and industry trends
- Interview and select apprenticeship applicants
- Handle apprentice discipline, grievances, and academic issues
- Act as liaison between the union, contractors (NECA), and JATC Board
- Manage training center budget and facilities
Qualifications
- 5+ years field experience; teaching/training experience preferred
- Working knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards
- Familiarity with DOL apprenticeship regulations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical/Other
- Comfortable in classroom and shop/lab settings
- Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) and local/regional travel
Compensation
Salary and benefits per JATC Board approval and applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
