Teaching responsibilities include primary and secondary applied voice for students in Music Education, Commercial Music, and Worship Leadership. Applied lessons for minors and elective voice students. This position requires the ability to perform and teach various styles including Classical, Commercial, Gospel, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and contemporary Worship music. The candidate should demonstrate ability in teaching and modeling belt singing technique. Ability to accompany students on piano from written music and charts/Nashville numbers is desired. Opportunities to provide coaching, direction, and supervision for vocal ensembles may be available. Perform in Faculty Concerts and University ensembles as directed. Supervise Student Junior and Senior Recitals and Projects in voice. Other courses and additional duties may be assigned predicated on the interests, qualifications, and experiences of the applicant as well as on the departmental needs.
Additional responsibilities encompass service to the department, university, and community along with appropriate scholarly activities.
