FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager
LOCATION: Meads Mill Middle School
BASE PAY: $16.30 per hour
BENEFITS: Eligible employees may receive medical/dental/vision benefits upon start date.
Paid time off.
Active staff members children can attend Northville Public Schools.
HOURS: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Positive and pleasant manner with co-workers, staff, supervisors and students.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills.
4. Basic math skills.
5. Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds..
6. Able to bend, stoop and stand for extended periods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are by way of illustration and not by way of
limitation:
1. Assist with food preparation as determined by menu and assignment.
2. Responsible to report immediately to kitchen coordinator or food service supervisor any
concerns regarding the quality or safety of food.
3. Serve students and staff in a warm, friendly manner.
4. Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary work area.
5. Assist with cleaning of kitchen area.
6. Serve as Cashier when needed.
7. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
Duties typically performed in assigned building include frequent walking, standing, bending,
and lifting.
