Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier / Floor Captain to join our team at a busy Japanese restaurant. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment. Prior experience in food service, cashiering, or retail is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced culinary setting where attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders in a courteous manner
- Operate POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and payments
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and food handling with accuracy and integrity
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station and ensure proper sanitation standards are met
- Assist with food preparation, serving, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff as needed
- Manage customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Follow food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Support overall restaurant operations by working efficiently during peak hours in a quick service environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or retail environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and sales calculations
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Experience with food preparation, serving, bussing, or kitchen operations is a plus
- Excellent time management skills to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods
- Prior restaurant experience or background in the food industry is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a quick service & fast food restaurant environment

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
