POSITION TITLE: Senior Youth Development Professional
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Club Director
SALARY/FLSA STATUS: Part Time/Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Club Director the Senior YDP will assist with successful planning, developing and implementation of programs and services to achieve the Formula for Impact for Club members. The Senior YDP will also act as a mentor to new Youth Development Professionals (YDP).
COMPETENCIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Youth Development & Mentorship

Register new members and participate in the club orientation process.

Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Program Planning & Facilitation
-
Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for club members and visitors.

Prepare lesson plans and various activities for members to engage in to promote diverse programming daily.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
-
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
Safety, Supervision & Accountability
-
Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Club.
Communication & Relationship Building
-
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High school diploma or GED; some college or college degree preferred.
-
2-3 years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people highly preferred.

Valid driver’s license and approved to drive by our insurance carrier (minimum age 21).
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Must have Staff Member in Charge (SMIC) credentials or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Group leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics.

Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.

Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay.

Demonstration of the ability to communicate with different groups.

Successful supervisory experience.

Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days of employment.

Must have or complete 40hrs of training in DCF within one year of hire.
TRAVEL:
Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas counties for training and/or other business purposes.
