Arrow Preparatory Academy is looking for an energetic, creative, and caring Summer Childcare Program Leader to provide a safe, engaging environment for the children of our teachers during our August staff training weeks.
If you love planning games, crafts, outdoor adventures, and creative activities that keep children active and smiling, this is the perfect summer job!
Position Overview
Our Summer Childcare Program serves children ages 1–10 years old while their parents participate in staff training and classroom preparation. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with mixed-age groups and can create a fun, organized, and nurturing atmosphere each day.
Schedule
- Three to four days per week during the month of August
- Approximately 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (hours and days may vary)
- Temporary position for the month of August
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, sensory activities, outdoor play, and creative projects.
- Create a daily schedule that balances active play, quiet activities, snacks, rest, and free play.
- Supervise children ages 1–10 in a safe and engaging environment.
- Foster kindness, cooperation, and positive friendships among children.
- Ensure children are safe, included, and having fun throughout the day.
- Prepare and clean up activity materials and play spaces.
- Communicate with parents and school staff regarding children's needs.
- Follow all school safety procedures and maintain a clean environment.
- Model patience, enthusiasm, and Christ-like character in every interaction.
Qualifications
Required
- Love working with young children.
- Experience caring for or teaching children.
- Dependable, organized, and responsible.
- Creative and enthusiastic with the ability to plan engaging activities.
- Comfortable supervising children of multiple ages.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Experience in childcare, preschool, summer camps, vacation Bible school, or elementary education.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience leading crafts, games, music, or outdoor activities.
