Machinist Level 3 is an upper-level position. They should be able to work independently with minimal assistance. Individuals in this position will be required to perform all of the responsibilities of Machinist Level 1 and Machinist Level 2. They will report to the Machine Shop Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Able to receive a job and assess the needed tasks.
- Able to interpret complex blueprints and terminology.
- Strong knowledge of tooling and materials.
- Strong understanding of how to use precision measuring tools.
- Strong maintenance knowledge, able to troubleshoot issues.
- Understands how to program their machine (when applicable).
- Able to perform complex machining operations.
- Strong understanding of quality control processes.
- Able to be a mentor for lower-level machinists.
- Able to step up when the manager is not available.
- Able to perform basic quality checks.
- Proficiency in complex set-ups.
- Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprints with minimal questions.
- Strong understanding of feeds and speeds.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools.
- Basic maintenance knowledge, able to troubleshoot issues.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-Code (when applicable)
- Basic knowledge on how machines work and how to operate them safely.
- Support experienced Machinists with complex tasks and learn from hands-on experience.
- Able to perform basic blueprint reading, basic set-ups, and machine operations.
- Willingness to learn basic quality checks.
- Basic understanding of materials and measuring tools.
- Problem solving and math skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Work under guidance and as a team.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Complete required paperwork and labor reporting.
- Able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
- Effectively communicate using various forms of written and verbal communication.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Able to stand, sit, bend, stretch, and squat for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Able to perform other job duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
