Make a Difference, One Conversation at a Time
At Your Policy, we are guided by four Core Values: People First, Do What You Love, Deliver What You Promise, and Balance is Key. These values shape how we build relationships, serve clients, and create a transparent, convenient, and user-friendly experience.
Our mission is to empower customers to make confident, informed decisions about their coverage with ease and trust. As we continue to grow, we are looking for entrepreneurial Employee Benefits Producers who want the independence of a 1099 opportunity backed by the support, resources, and reputation of an established agency.
Your Policy is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Employee Benefits Producer to join our team as an independent contractor. This is a 1099, commission-based producer opportunity designed for a self-motivated sales professional who can develop new business, build trusted employer relationships, and deliver strategic group benefits solutions.
In this role, you will focus on generating new employer relationships, identifying client needs, and helping businesses design, implement, and manage employee benefits strategies. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, consultative, organized, and comfortable managing their own sales activity while collaborating with internal agency resources when appropriate.
- Prospect, identify, and develop new B2B opportunities in the employee benefits marketplace.
- Build, manage, and advance a pipeline of employer prospects and client opportunities.
- Consult with business owners, executives, and HR leaders to understand their workforce, budget, compliance, and retention challenges.
- Recommend employee benefits strategies that may include group health, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and wellness solutions.
- Present solutions clearly and professionally, helping employers make confident decisions about their benefits programs.
- Collaborate with Your Policy team members and carrier partners to support quoting, proposals, implementation, and ongoing client service expectations (something we offer you a team to assist with).
- Create cross-sell opportunities by introducing appropriate Your Policy solutions such as Commercial P&C, Payroll, and other related services.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, carrier offerings, and key compliance considerations including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable requirements.
- Use CRM and agency-approved tools to document activity, pipeline status, opportunities, and client relationship details.
- Represent Your Policy with professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and a client-first mindset.
- Independent 1099 opportunity with flexibility and autonomy.
- Commission-based earning potential tied directly to production and client growth.
- Access to agency resources, carrier relationships, market knowledge, and internal support.
- Opportunity to build a book of business in a growing employee benefits platform.
- Ability to serve clients with a broader suite of solutions beyond employee benefits.
- Professional environment built around relationships, trust, and long-term client value.
This role is structured as an independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position. The Producer is responsible for managing their own schedule, sales activity, licensing requirements, business expenses, taxes, and any benefits or insurance coverage required for themselves. This position does not include employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, unemployment insurance, workers compensation coverage, or participation in a company-sponsored retirement plan.
Final compensation terms, commission schedules, carrier appointment requirements, and servicing expectations will be outlined in a separate written independent contractor agreement.
- Active Life and Health license required.
- 2-3+ years of experience in employee benefits, group insurance, supplemental benefits, B2B sales, or a related consultative sales role preferred.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop relationships, manage a pipeline, and close new business.
- Working knowledge of group health insurance markets, funding arrangements, carrier options, and benefits compliance preferred.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
- Strong consultative sales, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport with executives, HR professionals, business owners, and internal team members.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, agency tools, and technology to manage opportunities and client activity.
- Professional, ethical, and trusted with confidential client and agency information.
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity with commission-based compensation. Specific commission percentages, payment timing, renewal treatment, bonus opportunities, validation expectations, and any applicable terms will be defined in the independent contractor agreement.
At Your Policy, we believe insurance is more than policies and paperwork. It is about people, relationships, and helping employers protect and support the workforce that drives their business. Our Producers make relationship-based connections, bring clarity to complex insurance decisions, and help clients gain confidence and peace of mind.
If you are a driven benefits professional who wants the independence of a 1099 opportunity with the support of a growing agency, we would like to meet you.
