Job Summary
Seeking a Special Special Education Teacher & Director for a small school for pregnant and parenting teens in Boise. This is a dual-role position responsible for providing direct special education services to students while also overseeing the coordination, compliance, and leadership of the school’s special education program. This role is essential in supporting a small alternative school environment where individualized instruction, flexibility, and strong relationships are central to student success.The ideal candidate is both a skilled educator and an effective leader who can ensure high-quality services, maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws, and foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to students with IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with student needs and goals
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collect and analyze student data to track progress and guide instruction
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations and inclusion
- Oversee special education services within the school
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and state regulations
- Coordinate and lead IEP meetings, evaluations, and eligibility determinations
- Maintain accurate special education documentation and reporting
- Serve as the primary liaison with families, districts, and outside agencies
- Contribute to a flexible, student-centered school culture
- Support behavioral and social-emotional needs within the school setting
- Assist in maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- Valid state special education teaching certification/licensure
- Experience in special education, preferably in alternative or non-traditional settings
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small-school environment

Pay: $25,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
