Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our gastroenterology clinic. This role is responsible for delivering a welcoming, professional, and efficient check-in experience. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, updating patient records, and managing incoming calls. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients courteously and efficiently
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details
- Collect co-pays and provide accurate receipts
- Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical office experience is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a gastroenterology setting is preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general office software
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
